For a tourist to know what kind of transport exists in his destination is important too. To make your itinerary comfortable, you must be sure about it.

Talking about India, it’s impossible not to mention the variety of means of transportation. For exmaple…

Road transport

This is the most predominant mode of transport in the country. India’s road network is the second largest network in the World. The lengh is more than 4,600,000 kilometers (>2,900,000 miles)!

Using a car, you can easily go whatever you want in India.

Bus transport

Buses are the most affordable and handy for everyone who travels there. It’s over 90% of puplic transport across the cities in India.

Rail transport

A prominent and reliable mod of transport. You can cros the nation to explore even some areas that are not touristic.

By the way, Indian Railways is the third largest network of rail in the World after the USA and Russian Federation with 116000 kilometers of rail lines.

Air transport

Their motto is “Sky is (not) the Limit”. Airplanes and helicopters are provided at your service. There are more than 100 domestic and 12 international airports.

Water transport

It is the cheapest and easiest mode of transport there. National waterways cover truly long distances, so if you don’t have a seasick, it will be a great opportunity to discover the counry from another side.

Local transport

It includes such things like metro rail, taxis, monorail, tram, and of course, auto rickshaw! The legenary one.

As a conclusion I’d like to say that there is a lot of kinds of transportation in India. Even if you just like to have some funny ride, everything for you.
