New book — new emotions.
What is it this time?
“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams, ladies and gentlemen!
Adventures, jokes, Ford Prefect — what else do you need for happiness? Honestly, I like books as this so to read this one was only a matter of time.
In detail
Now I’m only 60 pages of this book but I feel that it isn’t the end because I want more and more of it. Even the language is difficult to me, I try not to look up every new word in dictionary but enjoy process of reading. For example, the words:
To hitchhike and hitchhiker — путешествовать автостопом и автостопщик;
Hung over — похмелье :D
Remarkable — замечательный
Chunky — коренастый
…are understandable in the context of the book. At the same time its presentaition style is captivating and catchy, but tricky. When I attempt to grasp in stratagem of the manner, it takes a lot of time to read this book. But I kind of like it too:-)
What’s it all add up to?
In general, it matches my expectations. I have heard about this story early and at that times I couldn’t care less about it. Even I had idea about Don’t Panic, 42 and other things, but it was a very dim view.
Alyona’s post in blog suddenly gave me an interest to read it. Besides it I was very familiar with other books so I think that it was the fortune at that moment.
